In the current Corona Virus pandemic, Rugby School’s Orchestra has become a ‘Virtual Orchestra’. Our first project was to make a new version of the Rugby School Song, “Floreat” for which I created an new orchestral arrangement. There was much hard work by Rugby School’s outstanding team of instrumental coaches and some wonderful playing by our pupils:
Our next project was somewhat more ambitious. We had decided to make a performance of the “Ode to Joy” from Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. It seemed very fitting for the strange times in which we find ourselves.
